For 7 years, I was never your priority—God, your family, your work & then me, always third

11  years ago, Toni Gonzaga—also known as Tin—touched many hearts when she openly shared a deeply personal moment about love, sacrifice, and patience during her proposal.
In her speech, Toni recalled how emotional she became while her fiancé—now her husband—was speaking. She admitted that as he was about to propose, memories from the very beginning of their relationship came rushing back, bringing her to tears.

“For the past seven years,” she shared, “I was never a priority in your life. It was always God, your family, your work—and then me. I was always third.”
Despite this, Toni revealed that she had accepted her place for years, holding on to faith and believing that, in time, everything would fall into place. She chose to let go of pride and gave everything she could in the relationship, trusting God with the outcome.
What stood out most in her story was the unwavering patience of her partner. According to Toni, he stayed, endured, and proved that true love waits.
“He really waited for me,” she said.

That realization changed everything for her. Toni expressed that once she becomes his wife, she would make sure he would no longer be second or third—but her top priority, with everything else coming after.
She also expressed deep gratitude for his patience, understanding, and most importantly, the respect he showed toward her parents. For Toni, this was a defining moment.
It was then that she realized he was the man she wanted to be the father of her future children—someone who understands, respects, and values family.
Her story remains a powerful reminder that love is not only about timing, but also about patience, sacrifice, and choosing each other—again and again.
